planned for a capacity of up to 3,000 visitors per day, the aquarium shall be the centerpiece of this water resort renovation. the box-shaped aquarium towers as high as the crown of palm trees planted around the entire perimeter and functions as a split container, with the above-ground portion devoted to smaller aquarium displays and the underground section, where tunnels running under large tanks bring visitors inside the habitats of larger marine species. housing the visitor ramp and backlit by aquariums within, the exterior skin announces the building’s purpose with playful silhouettes of diverse marine species.
